What is a travel package?

We know traveling with a pet can be stressful but we are here to help make this process easier for you!

By choosing our travel package we will make sure you have everything you need before traveling.

With this package you will get:

  • An initial health checkup to plan the whole process for you. During this checkup, we will assess if your pet is healthy and fit for travel. This includes: i) Checking if your pet’s vaccinations (Rabies and/or yearly vaccine) are up to date and comply with the regulations of the destination country, ii) EU passport issuance, if required.

  • A Rabies titer test, if required. This has to be done 30 days after the Rabies vaccination. In this case, there will be an additional charge for this service.

  • A second health checkup to deworm your pet and provide official documents required for your meeting with the Danish Ministry for Veterinary and Food Administration.

  • A certificate issued by our veterinarian, if required by the destination country. These are usually fit-to-travel documents that do not require an official veterinarian’s stamp.

Please note:

We will help you figure out what paperwork you’ll need for the destination country but just keep in mind that it is your job to investigate these regulations.

FAQs

You can select the package that excludes these options. We will then help you with the health checkup, paperwork, and deworming (if required).

Yes, we recommend you start as early as possible. We can start discussing the destination country’s requirements and once you have the dates we can book the initial health checkup for your pet.

As soon as possible. It is less stressful if you get everything done in time, without rushing. According to the EU regulations the rabies vaccine becomes valid 21 days after the first vaccination, and therefore the EU passport should be issued no later than 3 weeks before traveling.

Upon entry to certain countries, you must show your pet’s health certificate to local authorities. It is your responsibility as the pet owner to check the destination country’s regulations.

Contact the Danish Ministry for Veterinary and Food Administration for information about the required documents for the upcoming trip. If the documents require an official stamp, the Ministry will make an appointment for you to bring all your paperwork and the veterinarian there will stamp the documents for you.

Some countries require a Rabies titer test before traveling. A blood test is performed 30 days after the rabies vaccine is administered at an EU-approved laboratory. We can take the blood and sample and send it to the lab, but you must decide which laboratory the blood sample will be sent to. You will be able to find all the EU-approved laboratories on the Danish Ministry for Veterinary and Food Administration’s website.
